Legitimate Sites that Pay Writers

I started this page to help others make a little extra cash. I'm not promising thousands of dollars in your Paypal account every week but I have made a few hundred a week using a few sites that have actually paid me a fair wage for sitting in my home office on my nights off from my regular job selling plumbing and electrical supplies. I needed a little extra cash but my schedule was not flexible enough for a real part time job. So I did a little research found a few sites that actually paid me and decided I could write copy and content for online sites.

The set-up times on some of these sites a little long but they are well worth it in the long run. The first thing that is required is the ability to follow through and be mindful of the instructions that your client is giving you. Zerys is by far the most reliable site I write for and they have always paid me for all work they have accepted. The pay varies on the job and all work is paid by the word. Most jobs are between .7 cents a word for really easy jobs to 14 cents a word for much harder jobs. I write a lot of HVAC articles which require some research and the ability to follow precise instructions, I average around 3.2 cents a word. Many of the articles are around 350 words, while some are around 600 words. I make on average around $11.20 for less than an hour of work in my home while listening to music. That's not too bad for a part time job at home in my spare time.

The other site I use often is Odesk.com which is my girlfriend's favorite. While she was between jobs she did a lot of freelance jobs with this site and this can also be a very good way to stay productive and keep your skills sharp if you are between full time jobs. I have written a few blocks of articles via Odesk.com and I have always been paid. The down side is you have to bid on jobs and it's usually the low bidder that gets many jobs but the upside is if you actually produce good work they will ask you to do direct assignments. many of the jobs are jobs they are tasked with but don't want to do themselves but it's money in the bank.

Another awesome tool for freelance writers is Helium.com which allows you to create your own content and other websites that need web content offer to buy your articles from you. So, if you have articles that can be polished up and have market value this is an excellent place to post them.

We will be sharing more of our tips and tricks soon.
