How to Land Writing Jobs at Interact Media

Interact Media (Zerys.com) is an online content service that I have used for a few years and is a good way for new writers and those who need extra income to utilize their need for quality web content. Many of the jobs range from .7 cents per word to 14 cents a word but the majority of content is written for .7 cents to 3.2 cents per word.

The lower paying articles are generally local and city articles. For example: Where to dine in the Bakersfield area or The 10 best family friendly amusement parks in the Central Texas area. Many of the articles are also on topics such as: shopping, autos, home and garden, business, technology and health. There are others as well but they filter the jobs available according to your expertise. You get to pick five level one areas of expertise and a total of one hundred sub categories.

They use a two to five star rating system which is a combination of your editor's rating and the client's rating. You do not want to fall below a four star rating. Read the the client's and editor's instructions very carefully and do not deviate. Make the appropriate links where they ask and be mindful of the desired key word density that the require.

My advice is download and print their guide book and study it. They are very strict on their criteria but they are straight forward and clear. They are fair but I have to be clear that what you may think is "good enough" will not suffice.

The good news is they are reputable and they do pay on time but they only pay twice a month, on the first and fifteenth via Paypal. I have had only on article rejected by a client in a year and half. Some writer complain that it takes longer than two weeks to get paid but you will not get stiffed Interact Media charges the client for work done in good faith if the client does not approve it in a timely manner.

Some of the best paying and a most reliable genre of articles are HVAC articles which are tough to write if you don't know the subject. These articles generally pay 3.2 cents a word and average around 350 words per article.

Blogging for Dollars: Tips and Tricks for successful blogging.

I'm not going to lie and say that you will get rich by blogging because we all know that's an outright lie but there are a few tricks and tools to make some residual income from your blogs. The first thing is to have a niche blog for a specific tasks, like baking cookies or polka music or whatever your niche happens to be. The second thing is to create tags and links so people will find you and your blog easily. Create a blog that is proportionately dense with your target key words so that search engines will target your blog.

Helium.com allows you to post original content that you agree to give up the rights to for one year in exchange for residual income from advertising in relation to your article. Why I Love The Freelancers Bible

This is simply the best book on Freelancing that I have found. It answers all my questions in one easy to use format and I have learned more from this book than any other book like it. The best thing about is is that it is readable and not stuffed with jargon that I don't understand or don't need in the real world. This is not a book about business theories or fads it is a meat and potato, real world account of how to be successful freelancing without having to learn from your own mistakes. Sarah Horowitz is a freelancer guru in the true sense of the word. I only hope she writes more books. I'm also a subscriber and a member of her Freelancer's Union which is 100 percent free. I actually keep this book on my desk or at least no more than three feet from it at all times. Did I mention that I really love this book?

Legitimate Sites that Pay Writers

I started this page to help others make a little extra cash. I'm not promising thousands of dollars in your Paypal account every week but I have made a few hundred a week using a few sites that have actually paid me a fair wage for sitting in my home office on my nights off from my regular job selling plumbing and electrical supplies. I needed a little extra cash but my schedule was not flexible enough for a real part time job. So I did a little research found a few sites that actually paid me and decided I could write copy and content for online sites.

The set-up times on some of these sites a little long but they are well worth it in the long run. The first thing that is required is the ability to follow through and be mindful of the instructions that your client is giving you. Zerys is by far the most reliable site I write for and they have always paid me for all work they have accepted. The pay varies on the job and all work is paid by the word. Most jobs are between .7 cents a word for really easy jobs to 14 cents a word for much harder jobs. I write a lot of HVAC articles which require some research and the ability to follow precise instructions, I average around 3.2 cents a word. Many of the articles are around 350 words, while some are around 600 words. I make on average around $11.20 for less than an hour of work in my home while listening to music. That's not too bad for a part time job at home in my spare time.

The other site I use often is Odesk.com which is my girlfriend's favorite. While she was between jobs she did a lot of freelance jobs with this site and this can also be a very good way to stay productive and keep your skills sharp if you are between full time jobs. I have written a few blocks of articles via Odesk.com and I have always been paid. The down side is you have to bid on jobs and it's usually the low bidder that gets many jobs but the upside is if you actually produce good work they will ask you to do direct assignments. many of the jobs are jobs they are tasked with but don't want to do themselves but it's money in the bank.

Another awesome tool for freelance writers is Helium.com which allows you to create your own content and other websites that need web content offer to buy your articles from you. So, if you have articles that can be polished up and have market value this is an excellent place to post them.

We will be sharing more of our tips and tricks soon.
